Kendra Russell’s exploits on the softball diamond included being one of the area’s top dual-threat players, helping her to be picked to the 2005 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference All-Tournament Team and 2006 first team All-CACC.  The 2005 team amassed 27 victories, a feat not matched until last season, and closed third in the CACC Tournament.  She graduated tied for first in team history with 33 wins, first outright with 498 innings pitched, first with 267 strikeouts, second with nine home runs, tied for fourth with 39 doubles, seventh with 154 hits, eighth with 71 RBI and 10th with a .362 batting average.  On the volleyball court, Goldey-Beacom in 2005 reached the league’s summit by capturing the CACC title and Russell played a huge role for the squad.  In this her junior campaign playing right side and on her way to helping the Lightning reach the CACC Tournament all four years, Russell led the squad to 25 overall wins and 20 conference wins that still remain school records.  She graduated second in team history with 843 kills, second with 22 blocks and eighth with a .223 hitting percentage.
