Jim Mahoney served five years as golf coach and took the department to heights not seen since becoming an NCAA member.  The 2005-06 squad remains one of the College's best stories as it was under Mahoney's leadership in which the unit won the NCAA East Regional championship, becoming the first team in school history in any sport to win an NCAA Tournament event.  That team is enshrined in the GBC Athletics Hall of Fame and the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Hall of Fame.  The 2002 CACC Coach of the Year, Mahoney led Goldey-Beacom to three conference titles (2003-05) and coached 12 All-CACC selections in addition to one NAIA All-Region pick.
