Earning his second selection as the GBCAthletics.com Athlete of the Month, freshman guard Donte McGill averaged 18.1 points in seven games during the month of January and scored 10 or more points in six contests. He also made 51.2 per cent of his field goal attempts while shooting 86.5 per cent from the free throw line.

A two-time selection as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week, McGill scored a season-high 29 points in the Lightning's 82-67 win over Georgian Court on Jan. 28. He made 10 of 12 shots from the floor, including a perfect 6-for-6 from three-point range.

McGill, who is the Lightning's leading scorer this season, also tallied 24 points at Chestnut Hill on Jan. 14 and contributed 20 points on Jan. 23 against the University of the Sciences.
