Call this a more than successful showing for Goldey-Beacom's men's golf team and it was, ending tied for eighth at the NCAA East/Atlantic Regional in Victor, NY.

GBC during Saturday's final round shot 303 to close the 54-hole event tied for eighth with 902.  This marks the teams best finish at the regional since 2007, when it ended fifth.

Goldey-Beacom also finished tops among the three teams from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference participating this week.  Post ended 11th with 904 and Wilmington (DE) was tied for 14th with 908.

Hunter McGee (Almonte, ON) shot 77 on the day, including 38 on the front nine, and finished tied for 19th with 222.  Always a consistently solid player, the 2020-21 CACC Player of the Year ended the tournament tied for third with 38 pars.

Adrian Bonilla (Almeria, Spain) recorded two birdies on the day and played the back nine in 36, ending with 74 on the round and 223 for the championship to finish tied for 24th.  Bonilla closed with eight birdies over the 54 holes.

Camilo Samur (Bucaramanga, Colombia) had four birdies on the card and closed his day shooting 75, ending the championship tied for 42nd with 226.  Samur carded 11 birdies on the week to tie for the tournament's second-best total.

This ends a beyond outstanding campaign under first-year coach Steve Golt for Goldey-Beacom, which was appearing at the NCAA Regional as a team for the first time since 2012 and looking for its second regional title to match the one from 2006.  The squad finished with at least a share of the best score four times this season, including tied for the top spot at the CACC Championship.  McGee and Saenz Avila each were named All-CACC a third straight year and Samur was tabbed for the first time.

Saint Thomas Aquinas won the team crown with 881 and Jordan Hyland from Davis & Elkins grabbed medalist honors with 213.
