Goldey-Beacom has had a presence in the community through GBC Cares, the department's community service arm. The squad over the last three seasons has helped promote goodwill by providing care packages for elementary school kids at the Food Bank of Delaware in New Castle and the last two years has worked with fifth graders at Highlands Elementary School in Wilmington. During the latter, the players worked with students in small groups and taught the importance of arithmetics.
The squad also has lent a hand in Stop Hunger Now, assisting with the Ronald McDonald House and participating in Chillin4Charity.
Goldey-Beacom this season opened against some of the best teams in the country before ending with victories in eight of its last 12 contests.
