Women’s Basketball Dealt 69-53 Setback at No. 23 Holy Family

Goldey-Beacom made a trip to 23rd-ranked Holy Family and was handed a 69-53 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss in Philadelphia, PA.
 
Holy Family grabbed a 42-21 halftime cushion despite being held to just 39 percent shooting (15-of-39).  Kaelah Carter scored 12 points on four 3-pointers with Taylor Hinkle added 10 points and nine rebounds.
 
Senior Rory Ciszkowski (Wilmington, DE) closed with 10 points and five rebounds, sophomore Marasia Dyes (Binghamton, NY) poured in nine points with freshman Eva Walker (Wilmington, DE), junior Genesis Garcia (Aguada, PR) and senior Gaia Zimbardo (Parma, Italy) adding eight apiece for the Lightning (5-21, 5-14 CACC).
 
Hinkle finished with 18 points and 15 rebounds, Carter scored 12 points with Claire Dougherty adding 10 for the Tigers (24-3, 19-0).
 
Goldey-Beacom is home Saturday for Senior Day against Bridgeport, starting at 1:00 pm.  It also is the College's Hoop it Up day as we celebrate an afternoon of basketball, community spirit and alumni connection.
