Goldey-Beacom this fall hopes to get back among the league's elite as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference released its preseason poll, based on a vote by the league's coaches.

The Lightning, champions of the conference in 2017, were picked to finish eighth.

Graduation losses will give the 2019 Lightning a different look.  One key player back in the fold is senior Nicolas Jaramillo (Cali, Colombia), who once again looks to provide key play at midfield.  He closed last season 11th in the league with two game-winning goals, 22nd with five goals, 22nd with 13 points and 27th with three assists.

Junior Eduardo Coimbra (Curitiba, Brazil) parlayed a solid fall campaign into an impressive spring season and looks for more of the same in 2019.  He ended the regular season tied for third on the team with six points.

Junior Cole Lewis (Middletown, DE) looks to grab the starting nod at goalkeeper after closing 18th in the league with 21 saves.

Goldey-Beacom last season endured a tough campaign one year after winning the CACC championship.  Highlights included coming back for results against Felician and Jefferson along with a 3-0 triumph at eventual CACC champion Post.

Wilmington (DE) was picked to win the conference with eight first-place votes.

Goldey-Beacom opens its season September 5 against the District of Columbia on the campus of Wilmington University.
