Men’s Soccer Handed 4-0 Loss at Dominican (NY)

Goldey-Beacom was presented a battle at Dominican (NY), but left with a 4-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss in Orangeburg, NY.
 
The Lightning in the 16th minute were on the wrong side of an unfortunate bounce for the game's first goal.  Matheus Xaver took a throw in from Nicolas Ball and put a shot on cage that took a quick skip and ended in the back of the net.
 
The Chargers doubled the margin in the 55th minute.  Gaetan Mainaud put a perfect long ball in the box and Oscar Chazalet, also a substitute, headed it home for a 2-0 margin.
 
Dominican in the 57th minute got its third with Mainaud scoring a 25-yard floater off a long pass from goalkeeper David Arteaga.  Nicholas Pastula closed the scoring with 87 seconds remaining.
 
Sam Ball (Salisbury, MD) had six shots and fellow sophomore Pedro Montanes (Zaragoza, Spain) made two saves for the Lightning (2-11-3, 1-6-2 CACC).  Artega had two saves for the Chargers (4-8-3, 4-4-1).
 
Goldey-Beacom on Monday is at Bloomsburg for a 7:00 pm match.
