Goldey-Beacom sophomore defender Kelly Mejia (State College, PA) continued to accumulate well-deserved awards as she was tabbed second team All-East Region by the United Soccer Coaches.

One of many on the squad feted with postseason honors, Mejia's award comes after she was picked the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Year, first team all-league and Collegiate Commissioners Association first team All-East Region.

Mejia this season made the move to inside back and her played proved invaluable for the program.  The Lightning this season were third in the league with a 1.33 goals-against average, third with 27 goals against, posted six shutouts and 13 games in which they allowed one goal or fewer.

Among the many awards this season, the Lightning had three players named first team all-conference, four picked second team and Dan Frick named CACC Coach of the Year for the second time in three seasons.  Other honors included senior Cliona Crammond (Wicklow, Ireland) being named CCA third team All-America, Google Cloud CoSIDA second team Academic All-America and joining Mejia as a first team CCA All-Region pick.

Freshman Melayna Immediato (Hockessin, DE) was tabbed second team CCA All-East Region with sophomore Rose Benjamin (North East, MD) and junior Line Kristoffersen (Bergen, Norway) joining Crammond as a Google Cloud CoSIDA Academic All-District selection.

Crammond and freshman Jackie Ayers (Rising Sun, MD) both were picked to the CACC All-Tournament Team.

Goldey-Beacom (15-5, 11-1 CACC) enjoyed a remarkable campaign in which it broke the school record for most wins, most conference victories, most home wins with nine and a team-record 63 goals.  The Lightning won their first six games both overall and in the conference for the best starts in team annals and recorded their third straight season of double-digit wins for the first time in program history.

This season also marked the first time Goldey-Beacom played in the CACC semifinals in consecutive years.  The quarterfinal triumph also marked the first time in program history it had won a conference tournament game in back-to-back seasons.

GBC also has 39 victories over its last three seasons that is a school record for that period.
