Heather Faasse Welcomed as New Women’s Soccer Coach

3/10/2026 12:00:00 AM

Goldey-Beacom is proud to introduce Heather Faasse as the eighth women's soccer coach in program history and the first solely as the position's full-time job.

Faasse arrives after serving the last two seasons at Virginia Military Academy, first as an assistant coach and last year as the associate head coach.  She helped lead the program's recruiting that included national outreach, evaluation and scholarship planning that increased the quality of recruits.

She also led tactical periodization, training design and individual development plans.  Faasse oversaw primary operational responsibilities that included compliance, travel, budget input and risk management to comply with the NCAA and the Southern Conference.

Faasse from 2023-24 also was the head coach for Chattanooga FC, developing and implementing training plans focused on player skill development, teamwork and sportsmanship.

She also was the head coach at Norwich University from 2018-22 after serving as an assistant the prior season.  Faasse's accomplishments at Norwich were not limited to coaching, serving as an adjunct Business professor, an athletics academic advisor and a Title IX advisor.

Faasse graduated Colby-Sawyer College with a B.A. in Biology, earned her M.S. from Norwich University in Organizational Leadership and received her Ph.D. from the University of the Cumberlands in Student Services.

Faasse, the women's head coach in program history, enters a tremendous situation in taking over a squad that last season made the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament for the ninth time in its last 11 competitive seasons.  This with a lineup that featured seven newcomers competing in at least 14 contests.

The Lightning set a new school record with an eight-game unbeaten streak, going 5-0-3 and outscoring their opponents 18-7.

"This is an exciting time for our women's soccer program as we welcome Coach Faasse as our first full-time head coach," Goldey-Beacom Director of Athletics Jeremy Benoit said.  "Heather embodies all the characteristics I look for in head coaches and her well-rounded professional experience will be a tremendous asset to our department and the College outside of her sport.  I look forward to working alongside her to build an even stronger future for our program."

Goldey-Beacom opens its 2026 campaign August 27 at home against Pace.
