Women’s Soccer Falls at Molloy

Goldey-Beacom ran into a scoring machine and was handed an 8-0 loss by Molloy in Rockville, Centre, NY.
 
Molloy did its best early on to breach Goldey-Beacom's defense, one game after the latter played solidly in a 4-2 loss Sunday at No. 25 Mercy.
 
Sophomore Maria Empadinhas (Cascais, Portugal) continued to be a key in making six saves over the first 17 minutes.  Empadinhas, along with senior Lexy Yeager (West Deptford, NJ), earlier this week was named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Weekly Honor Roll.
 
In the 18th minute, Marissa Tonic scored off a feed from Isabella Muro for a 1-0 Lions cushion.  Molloy made it 2-0 in the 36th minute when Jana Strait found the back of the next off Amanda Martin's assist.
 
Muro added a grape to her apple in the 47th minute when she scored off a feed from Angelina Rodriguez to give Molloy, which closed the 2025 regular season sixth in the NCAA East Region Rankings, a 3-0 lead.
 
Empadinhas finished with a career-best 16 saves for the Lightning (0-3).  Bella Juliano had two goals and an assist, Ysabelle Perillo scored twice with Muro getting a goal and two assists for Molloy (1-2).
 
Goldey-Beacom does not play again until next Saturday, when it hosts Assumption at 1:00 pm.
