Women's Soccer Falls to Assumption, 4-0

Goldey-Beacom fell to Assumption, 4-0, on Saturday afternoon at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field in Wilmington, DE. 

Assumption (2-1-1) opened the scoring in the 18th minute when Rachael Geniuch found the back of the net off an assist from Elizabeth Schoeneberger. The Greyhounds added to their lead in the 31st minute, when Natalie Matz scored off an assist from Deirdra Picillo. Abigail Greable extended Assumption's lead in the 38th minute, scoring off an assist from Alyanna Brown to give the Greyhounds a 3-0 advantage at halftime.

Assumption continued to apply offensive pressure in the second half, adding its fourth and final goal in the 74th minute when Zhunay Moulton scored off an assist from Meghan Aubee.

The Greyhounds outshot the Lightning, 22-3, with senior Lexy Yeager (West Deptford, NJ) accounting for all three of Goldey-Beacom's shots. Sophomore Maria Empadinhas (Cascais, Portugal) recorded 10 saves for the Lightning and Emily Hickey made one for the Greyhounds.

Goldey-Beacom faces its first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponent Wednesday, when it travel to Felician for a 1:00 pm contest.
