Holy Family Earns Three-Set Victory Over Volleyball

Peters Leads Lightning With 21 Assists and 12 Digs

WILMINGTON, Del. – Sophomore outside hitter Charlotte Sabatano (Gov. Thomas Johnson H.S./Frederick, Md.) recorded her sixth "double double" of the season as Holy Family University (11-12, 7-6) ended a two-match losing streak by posting a three-set Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Goldey-Beacom College (4-17, 0-13) at the Joseph West Jones College Center on Wednesday evening.

The Tigers, who earned their 14th consecutive victory over the Lightning, claimed the win by set scores of 25-15, 26-24 and 25-22.

While Sabatano led the Tigers with a match-high 10 kills and 10 digs, sophomore right side hitter Rachel Johnson (Lincoln Way West H.S./New Lenox, Ill.) contributed nine kills with seven digs and three blocks.

Meanwhile, senior setter Chelsea Keegan (Colonel Crawford H.S./Bucyrus, Ohio) tallied 26 assists while adding five digs and four kills.

Senior opposite Roni Peters (Leonardtown H.S./Leonardtown, Md.) led the Lightning in the loss with her fourth "double double" of the season after tallying 21 assists with 12 digs. She also contributed four kills and a service ace.

Junior outside hitter Kadi McCoy (Dallastown H.S./Dallastown, Pa.) added 10 kills with eight assists, five digs and three blocks while freshman middle hitter Grace McCarthy (Delaware Military Academy/Middletown, Del.) had seven kills with five blocks and a .417 hitting percentage.  

The Lightning will continue their four-match homestand on Thursday, Oct. 24 when they host Bowie State in a non-conference match at 7 p.m. It will also serve as the team's annual "Dig Pink" match.
