Gabi Fullwood Picked Second Team D2CCA Volleyball All-East Region

Goldey-Beacom freshman Gabi Fullwood (Powder Springs, GA), a major addition this season to the squad at middle hitter, was named second team D2 Conference Commissioners Association All-East Region Team.

This honor comes after she was tabbed Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Year and first team all-league.

Fullwood provided Goldey-Beacom the help in the middle it desperately needed with her powerful spikes and defensive presence at the net. A gifted athlete who has been a major part of the Lightning's ascent, Fullwood started all 27 matches she has played this season.

She is first in the CACC with 0.96 blocks per set and third with 98 blocks. Fullwood's blocks total is the fifth-best single-season mark in team history and she notched doubles figures in kills 13 times, including 17 on September 20 vs. Lock Haven.

Fullwood also has shown a consistent ability at making few mistakes, as witnessed by her .327 hitting percentage that is the second-best single-season mark in team history and 80th in the country. She had a .536 percentage (15-0-28) September 23 vs. Jefferson and a .526 mark (11-1-19) November 12 at Chestnut Hill (11/12).

It was yet another incredible season for the Lightning (16-13, 10-5 CACC), who played in the CACC Tournament in consecutive years for the first time since 2006. The squad had a pair of five-match winning streaks and amassed its greatest win total since getting 25 victories in its 2005 CACC championship campaign.
