Goldey-Beacom's Volleyball Team, which enjoyed a momentous 2025 campaign, saw sophomore libero Gaby Fernandez (Arecibo, PR) and junior outside hitter Giuliana Jaku (Belluno, Italy) each named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference All-Academic Team.

Fernandez has established herself as one of the nation's top defensive players and was named second team All-CACC a second consecutive year.  Getting to would-be kills that astoundingly turned into Lightning points, she is one of the College's most valuable players in any sport, started all 59 matches in her career and last year was picked the league's Defensive Player of the Week four times.

She closed last season 11th in the country with 618 digs for the second-best mark in team history and 11th with 5.52 digs per set.  Fernandez enters next year sixth in team history with 1,201 digs.

Jaku had a tremendous campaign with her powerful hitting and ever-present enthusiasm.  She ended third on the squad with 213 kills, second with 43 aces, recorded three double-doubles and had at least 10 kills on 10 occasions.

It was yet another incredible season for the Lightning (16-13, 10-5 CACC), who played in the CACC Tournament in consecutive years for the first time since 2006.  The squad had a pair of five-match winning streaks and amassed its greatest win total since getting 25 victories in its 2005 CACC championship campaign.

Additional awards included freshman middle hitter Gabi Fullwood (Powder Springs, GA) being named second team D2 Conference Commissioners Association All-East Region, CACC Rookie of the Year and first team all-league.  Sophomore setter Juliana Malena (Miami, FL) had a solid bounce-back season from injury and was picked third team all-conference.
