WILMINGTON, Del. - Searching for its first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory of the season, the Lightning volleyball team will face a pair of CACC opponents this weekend. After traveling to Holy Family on Friday night, the Lightning will start a quick two-match homestand on Saturday afternoon by welcoming Nyack to the Joseph West Jones College Center.

Now 4-8 overall and 0-4 in the CACC, the Lightning have lost five straight matches following a tough five-set decision at Felician on Saturday afternoon. After battling back from a 2-1 deficit in the fourth set, Goldey-Beacom lost by an 18-16 margin in the fifth and deciding set against the Golden Falcons.
Sophomore outside hitter
Kadi McCoy (Dallastown H.S./Dallastown, Pa.) led the Lightning in the loss by posting her second consecutive "double double" with 17 kills and 16 digs while freshman setter
Jamika Townsend (King's Fork H.S./Suffolk, Va.) had a season-high 30 assists with 11 digs to earn a "double double."
Sophomore defensive specialist
Niki Receveur (Concord H.S./Wilmington, Del.) added a season-high 20 digs for the Lightning, who hit .129 in the loss.
The CACC leader by averaging 3.33 kills per set, McCoy has tallied 150 kills in 12 matches this season for the Lightning while contributing a team-high 115 digs. After her 17-kill performance against Felician on Saturday, McCoy has tallied 10 or more kills in five straight matches and has averaged 14.8 kills per match during that stretch.
Meanwhile, senior setter/opposite
Monica Dempsey (Secaucus H.S./Secaucus, N.J.) leads the CACC by averaging 0.70 service aces per set, which ranked 12th in NCAA Division II through matches of Sept. 23. Dempsey, who also leads the Lightning with 195 assists, matched a season high with four service aces against Felician on Saturday afternoon.
Currently 3-13 overall and 1-4 in the CACC, Holy Family will be looking to rebound after suffering a tough five-set defeat against Georgian Court on Tuesday night at the Campus Center. The Tigers won the first two sets by scores of 25-23 and 25-22 before the Lions rallied to take the win.
Junior middle blocker
Sarah Ambach (Springboro H.S./Springboro, Ohio) led the Tigers with a match-high 15 kills and added two solo blocks while freshman right side hitter
Rachel Johnson (Lincoln Way West H.S./New Lenox, Ill.) contributed nine kills with 15 digs.
The Tigers posted 19 service aces in the loss against Georgian Court, but were held to a .055 hitting percentage.
The Tigers, who have split their last four matches, are led by Ambach, who has a team-high 142 kills and ranks third on the team with 25 blocks. Meanwhile, Johnson has contributed 132 kills with 26 blocks. Junior setter
Chelsea Keegan (Colonel Crawford H.S./Bucyrus, Ohio) has served as the Tigers' primary setter with 532 assists, which leads the CACC.
The Warriors, who will host Bentley on Friday night before traveling to Wilmington, enter this weekend's matches with a 6-5 record, including a 3-2 mark in the CACC, after a four-set victory over Caldwell on Tuesday night. After splitting the first two sets against the Cougars, the Warriors took the next two sets to earn the victory.
Senior outside hitter
Moana Masaniai (Kamehameha Schools/Waipahu, Hawaii) led the Warriors to the victory by recording 17 kills with a .333 hitting percentage while contributing nine digs. Meanwhile, junior defensive specialist
Michelle Makela (Cocoa H.S./Cocoa, Fla.) added a match-high 36 digs.
Masaniai leads the Warriors with 121 kills in 11 matches while contributing 11 total blocks. She also ranks fourth on the team with 78 digs. Meanwhile, junior setter/outside hitter
Brianna Kane (Westwoods Christian H.S./Bethany, Conn.) has posted a team-high 228 assists with 97 digs.
After this weekend's matches, the Lightning will host Philadelphia University on Wednesday night at the Jones Center. Opening serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
