ORANGEBURG, N.Y. - Sophomore midfielder Christopher Walsh (Baldwin Senior H.S./Baldwin, N.Y.) scored two goals and added an assist to lead Dominican College (4-2-1, 3-1-0) to its second win in the last three games, a 3-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Goldey-Beacom College (1-5-0, 0-4-0) at the DC Athletic Field on Saturday afternoon.

Walsh, who had tallied just two assists in the first six games, scored a goal in each half as the Chargers handed Goldey-Beacom its fifth straight loss.

The Chargers took a quick 1-0 lead in the game's second minute when Walsh scored on a shot from five yards after receiving a pass from senior midfielder Pedro De Araujo (Campinas-SP, Brazil).

Less than eight minutes into the second half, Dominican upped its advantage to 2-0 when senior Alex Rodier (Williamstown H.S./Williamstown, N.J.) scored on a six-yard shot after receiving a crossing pass from Walsh.

With 21:39 remaining, Walsh added his second goal of the game off a feed from sophomore Clodalain Lolo (North Rockland H.S./Stony Point, N.Y.) to extend the Chargers' cushion to 3-0.

While Walsh led the Chargers to the victory, junior goalkeeper Andres Ruiz (Medellin, Colombia) posted three saves en route to the shutout as Dominican outshot Goldey-Beacom by a commanding 26-5 margin.

Senior goalkeeper Ignacio Farias (Maracay, Venezuela) made seven saves in a losing effort for the Lightning.

The Lightning will return home on Tuesday afternoon to begin a three-match homestand against Washington Adventist at the Kirkwood Soccer Complex at 4 p.m.
