Three for Goldey-Beacom Picked for CACC Weekly Honors

Another impressive week for Goldey-Beacom Athletics saw sophomore Kelci Gingras (Orem, UT) picked Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Volleyball Player of the Week, sophomore Matt Porto (Wilmington, DE) named Men's Soccer's Player of the Week and Adham Mohamed (West Windsor, NJ) picked the sport's Goalkeeper of the Week.

Gingras had an unreal week with 44 kills, 48 digs, six block assists and three double-doubles over three matches, all Goldey-Beacom wins. It started Wednesday in her squad's stunning 3-1 win over West Chester with 13 kills, 11 digs and a .417 hitting percentage. It continued Saturday with 18 kills and 21 digs in a 3-2 triumph vs. Saint Thomas Aquinas. It ended with 13 kills and 16 digs Saturday in a 3-1 win against Pace.

The victory over West Chester was Goldey-Beacom's first in 27 meetings. GBC (8-2) has won four straight and is one of just three schools in the East Region with at least eight wins, joining American International and Jefferson.

Porto closed the week with two goals and two assists over two games. This included the tying goal in the 85th minute, lifting Goldey-Beacom to a 3-3 tie Saturday at Roberts Wesleyan. Porto also had a goal and two assists Wednesday in his squad's 5-1 win vs. Pittsburgh-Johnstown.

Mohamed went 1-0-1 on the week with five saves, including three against Pittsburgh-Johnstown and two at Roberts Wesleyan.
