Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Soccer Teams Each Handed a 3-2 Loss

Goldey-Beacom's Women's Soccer team nearly rallied from a three-goal deficit against Monroe in a 3-2 loss at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field in Wilmington and the Men's Soccer squad could not hold a one-goal lead in a 3-2 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss at Caldwell.
 
The women cracked the scoreboard in the 67th minute when junior Jessica Jensen (Las Vegas, NV) intercepted a pass and scored for her second goal of the season and seventh career.  Junior Janie Cross (West Deptford, NJ) made it a one-goal game in the 87th minute when the ball ricocheted off her at the goal line for her first career goal.
 
Sophomore Maria Empadinhas (Cascais, Portugal) again was on fire with eight saves for the Lightning (1-5).  Jeanne Truche had two saves over 45 minutes for the Mustangs (3-2).
 
Junior Sam Ball (Salisbury, MD) recorded a brace in the men's contest, scoring in the ninth minute for a 1-0 Goldey-Beacom lead and in the 73rd minute to close the scoring.  He now has three goals on the season and 10 career.
 
Sophomore Adham Mohamed (West Windsor, NJ) had five saves for the Lightning (1-4-2, 0-1 CACC) and Diogo Da Silva recorded one for the Cougars (3-3, 1-0).
 
The women's team next Tuesday is at Jefferson for a 3:45 pm match in East Falls.  The men are back in action Wednesday at Neumann for a 7:00 pm contest in Aston, PA.
