NEW CASTLE, Del. – Sophomore forward Danny Hoyos (Perth Amboy H.S./Perth Amboy, N.J.) scored the game's lone goal in the 39th minute as Felician College (3-1-1, 2-0-1) extended its unbeaten streak to four straight games by posting a 1-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Goldey-Beacom College (1-4-0, 0-3-0) at the Kirkwood Soccer Complex on Saturday afternoon.

After opening the season with a 5-0 loss against Saint Michael's in their season opener on Aug. 31, the Golden Falcons have posted a 3-0-1 record in the last four matches and have allowed just one goal.

With 6:25 remaining in the first half, Hoyos gave the Golden Falcons a 1-0 lead when he scored his first goal of the season off a corner kick play. Senior midfielder Daniel Camargo (Vinhedo, Brazil) and junior midfielder Azedine Maazouzi (Brussels, Belgium) were credited with assists on the play.

In the 61st minute, the Lightning had their best chance to tie the game. After junior midfielder Andre Jank (Campo Grande, Brazil) had a shot stopped by sophomore goalkeeper Anthony Tsouhnikas (Clifton H.S./Clifton, N.J.), junior forward Thatcher Howell put the rebound into the goal. But, the Lightning were called offsides, which negated the tying marker.

From there, Tsouhnikas and the Golden Falcon defense held the Lightning without a goal en route to their third shutout of the season.

Tsouhnikas made two saves for the Golden Falcons, who outshot Felician by a 13-7 margin.

Senior goalkeeper Ignacio Farias (Maracay, Venezuela) recorded a pair of saves in a losing effort for the Lightning, who have lost four straight games after a 2-1 victory over Saint Rose on Aug. 31.

The Lightning will travel to Chestnut Hill College on Tuesday evening for a 7 p.m. CACC match-up against the Griffins. Meanwhile, Felician will host Bloomfield on Thursday.
