BLOOMFIELD, N.J. – Sophomore midfielder Cesar Ventura (North Bergen H.S./North Bergen, N.J.) scored the winning goal just 1:29 into the overtime period as Bloomfield College (7-5-2, 5-3-2) overcame a one-goal deficit to earn a 4-3 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Goldey-Beacom College (4-12-0, 1-10-0) at the Deacons' Foley Field on Tuesday evening.

After tying the game in the 74th minute to force overtime, the Deacons earned the win when Ventura took a pass from senior defender Momar Diop (Dickinson H.S./Union City, N.J.) and scored his first goal of the season past senior goalkeeper Ignacio Farias (Maracay, Venezuela).

The Deacons took a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute when junior forward Morgan Lebeurre (Gien, France) converted a pass from senior defender Michael Beeson (London, England) for his second goal of the season.

But, the Lightning answered with 7:19 remaining in the first half when freshman forward Michael Harmon (Cape Henlopen H.S./Milton, Del.) scored his third goal of the season, an unassisted marker past sophomore goalkeeper Kieran Moran (Cardinal Spellman H.S./Bronx, N.Y.).

Just over seven minutes into the second half, junior forward Thatcher Howell (Salesianum H.S./Wilmington, Del.) gave Goldey-Beacom a 2-1 advantage when he scored off a pass from senior midfielder Matt Bik (Sacred Heart H.S./Vineland, N.J.) for his third goal of the season.

In the 62nd minute, the Deacons tied the match at 2-2 after Beeson converted a rebound of a shot by junior Kemar Richards (Kingston, Jamaica) that hit the crossbar. It was Beeson's third goal of the year.

Howell regained the Lightning's one-goal advantage just over six minutes later when he scored his second goal of the match, converting a pass from freshman Alberto Moran-Sanchez (Vigo, Spain) on a 30-yard shot past Moran.

But, the Lightning's lead was short lived as Richards evened the score at 3-3 with 16:43 remaining in regulation with a 20-yard blast past Farias, setting up the heroics by Ventura.

Beeson and Richards each scored a goal with an assist for the Deacons while Moran made three saves as Bloomfield outshot Goldey-Beacom by a 22-12 margin.

Howell led the Lightning in a losing effort with two goals while Farias posted seven saves.

The Lightning, who finished their CACC schedule against the Deacons on Tuesday night, will continue their four-match road trip on Thursday night when they travel to Bloomsburg University for a 7 p.m. match against the Huskies.
