WILMINGTON, Del.
- After dropping a pair of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference matches over the weekend, the Lightning volleyball team will complete its quick two-match homestand on Wednesday night by welcoming Philadelphia University into the Joseph West Jones College Center for a 7 p.m. CACC match.

It will be the first of two meetings between the Lightning and the Rams this season. The two teams will also meet in Philadelphia on Oct. 31.

Now 4-10 overall and 0-6 in the CACC, the Lightning will be trying to end a seven-match losing streak when they host the Rams on Wednesday night. Goldey-Beacom, which hasn't earned a win since Sept. 13 at Bowie State, dropped a three-set match against Holy Family on Friday night before falling against Nyack in four sets on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore outside hitter Kadi McCoy (Dallastown H.S./Dallastown, Pa.) has been the Lightning's offensive leader this season and tallied 21 kills with 15 digs in the team's two matches last weekend. She was limited to just six kills against Holy Family with six digs before exploding for 15 kills and nine digs against Nyack on Saturday, barely missing a "double double."

The CACC leader in kills per set with a 3.29 average, McCoy ranks fourth in the CACC with 171 kills in 14 matches this year. She has tallied 10 or more kills in six of the Lightning's last seven matches, including back-to-back 17-kill efforts against Chestnut Hill and Felician. She also earned a "double double" in each of those matches, recording 10 and 16 digs, respectively.

Meanwhile, senior setter/opposite Monica Dempsey (Secaucus H.S./Secaucus, N.J.) posted her team-leading sixth "double double" of the season on Saturday by recording 15 assists with 13 digs. She also added two service aces, upping her season total to 32 in 14 matches.

Dempsey, who leads the CACC by averaging 0.64 service aces per set, has tallied 168 career service aces, which ranks fourth in school history. She also needs 19 assists to move into second place on the Lightning's all-time list.

With an 8-5 overall record and a 4-2 mark in the CACC, the Rams enter Wednesday's match in second place in the CACC's South Division standings. However, the Rams will be looking to snap a two-match losing streak after losing against Wilmington and Dominican over the weekend.

Junior outside hitter Brittany Olson (Sycamore H.S./Sycamore, Ill.) is the Rams' leading hitter with 125 kills in 13 matches. She also ranks third on the team with 126 digs and has 14 service aces. She had a season-high 20 digs against Dominican in a five-set loss on Saturday and also had 16 kills with 18 digs in the season opener against Kutztown on Aug. 30.

The Lightning will begin a quick two-match road trip on Friday night when they take on the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia at 7 p.m. The Devils earned a four-set victory over Goldey-Beacom at the Jones Center on Sept. 17.
