Goldey-Beacom vs. Holy Family Live Stats (Oct. 17, 2012)

WILMINGTON, Del.
- Hoping to get back in the win column, the Lightning will begin one of the busiest weeks of the regular season with matches against Lincoln University and Holy Family University on Tuesday, Oct. 16 and Wednesday, Oct. 17, respectively. After visiting Lincoln on Tuesday night, the Lightning will host Holy Family in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match at the Joseph West Jones College Center on Wednesday night.

Live stats for Wednesday's match against the Tigers will be available on GBCAthletics.com by clicking here.

Now 4-15 overall and 0-11 in the CACC, the Lightning will be looking to snap a 12-match losing streak when they hit the courts this week. The Lightning, who played three CACC matches last week, have not won since a three-set victory over Bowie State on Sept. 13. In addition, the Lightning will be looking to end a six-match home losing skid when they host the Tigers on Wednesday night.

Sophomore outside hitter Kadi McCoy (Dallastown H.S./Dallastown, Pa.) led the Lightning in their three-set loss against Caldwell on Saturday afternoon, recording a team-high 12 kills with 7 digs. Meanwhile, sophomore defensive specialist Niki Receveur (Concord H.S./Wilmington, Del.) posted a match-high 13 digs while senior setter/opposite Monica Dempsey (Secaucus H.S./Secaucus, N.J.) added 14 assists with 9 digs and 6 kills.

The CACC leader with a 3.43 kill per set average, McCoy ranks third in the CACC with 233 kills in 19 matches this season. She has posted 10 or more kills in 9 of her last 11 matches, including a career-high 23 kills in the Lightning's four-set loss against Chestnut Hill on Thursday night. In addition, she leads the Lightning with 191 digs, including a season-high 22 digs in the four-set loss to the Griffins on Thursday.

Currently 2-14 on the season, the Lady Lions snapped a seven-match losing streak on Thursday night with a thrilling five-set victory over Cheyney University. After dropping the first two sets, Lincoln rallied to take the match in the fifth set with a 15-10 victory.

Junior outside hitter Cynthia Johnson (Baltimore Polytechnic Institute/Randallstown, Md.) led the Lady Lions to the victory with a match-high 14 kills while contributing 19 digs. Meanwhile, freshman setter Erica McClain (Kennett H.S./Kennett Square, Pa.) added a match-high 21 digs and 15 assists along with nine kills, just missing a "triple double."

Johnson leads the Lady Lions with 86 kills, 123 digs and 18 service aces while McClain has tallied 141 assists.

Riding a three-match winning streak, the Tigers will enter Wednesday's match against the Lightning with a 9-14 overall record and a 7-5 CACC mark after earning a four-set victory over Concordia College on Saturday. The Tigers, who will be playing their fourth consecutive road match on Wednesday night, were led by freshman outside hitter Charlotte Sabatano (Gov. Thomas Johnson H.S./Frederick, Md.), who tallied a match-high 14 kills with a .312 hitting percentage.

Meanwhile, freshman Emma Herring (Newtown H.S./Newtown, Conn.) added nine kills with a .642 hitting percentage with four blocks and a service ace.

Junior middle blocker Sarah Ambach (Springboro H.S./Springboro, Ohio) leads the Tigers with 191 kills and 44 blocks while Herring has contributed 164 kills with a team-high 48 service aces.

The Lightning will be looking to avenge a three-set loss against the Tigers when the two teams meet on Wednesday night. On Sept. 28, the Tigers posted a three-set victory over Goldey-Beacom as Ambach hit .600 with 10 kills. McCoy and Dempsey each recorded six kills to lead the Lightning in a losing effort.
