WILMINGTON, Del.
- Returning home after a tough three-set loss against Wilmington University on Tuesday night, the Lightning volleyball team will host Chestnut Hill College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match at the Joseph West Jones College Center on Thursday night.

First serve between the Lightning and the Griffins is slated for 7 p.m. It will also be the Lightning's annual "Dig Pink" night and fans are encouraged to wear pink and donate to the Side Out Foundation. More details about Thursday night's fundraising efforts can be found by clicking here.

Now 4-13 overall and 0-9 in the CACC, the Lightning were unable to earn their first conference victory of the season against the CACC-leading Wildcats as Wilmington won the match by scores of 25-22, 25-20 and 25-15. Despite being limited to just five kills on Tuesday night, sophomore outside hitter Kadi McCoy (Dallastown H.S./Dallastown, Pa.) matched her season high by recording 16 digs against the Wildcats. The Lightning's leading hitter with 198 kills this season, she ranks second in the CACC by averaging 3.25 kills per set. She has recorded 10 or more kills in eight of her last ten matches.

Meanwhile, Dempsey has tallied 35 service aces in 17 matches this season and leads the CACC by averaging 0.59 service aces per set. In addition, she leads the Lightning with 260 assists and 165 digs.

Currently 6-14 overall and 2-7 in the CACC, the Griffins will also be looking to snap a losing streak on Thursday night after suffering a three-set loss against Georgian Court. Chestnut Hill has dropped its last six matches and will be looking for its first win since a three-set victory over Concordia on Sept. 22.

Junior outside hitter Alexandra DePalma (Governor Mifflin H.S./Shillington, Pa.) led the Griffins against Georgian Court on Tuesday night by tallying 13 kills and 16 digs. Meanwhile, senior setter Courtney Gallo (Ursuline Academy/Wilmington, Del.) added 30 assists and three digs while freshman outside hitter Abby Gruver (Whitehall H.S./Coplay, Pa.) added 11 digs with five kills.
