The Lightning Men's Soccer team hosted Mercy College today for their third game of the season. 

 

The first half was a battle of the shots on goal.  Goldey-Beacom was the first to score.  At 17:16 a through ball from Rob Cann found Kwame Appiah, who scored his second goal of the season.  Eight minutes later, Dave Nimroozi knocked in the second goal of the game for the Lightning, with the assist coming from Angel Rodriguez. 

 

Mercy got a small break in the second half with a goal scored by Gianfranco at 53:53 to cut the Lightning's lead in half.  The Lightning took back the two goal lead with a goal from Rob Cann at 68:34 with the assist coming from Kyle Beane. 

 

Goalkeeper Garret Shuler recorded 10 saves for the game to keep Mercy at bay, as the Lightning defeated Mercy College 3-1 for their first win of the season.
