Wilmington, DE – Acosta leads Lightning to dominating win

The Lightning women's basketball team played host to non-conference opponent Columbia Union College on December 1, 2008.  The Lightning struck the court with 20 unanswered points in the first seven minutes, to take a commanding lead.  Keeping the momentum going in the first half the Lightning stretched their lead to 27 points to lead at the half.

The Lightning continued their dominate play in the second half against the Pioneers, and ran away with an 84-51 win.

Evebonee Acosta led the Lightning's charge with 31 points.  Janae Weldon added 16 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 assists, while Lindsay Duck and Ashley Steele put up 12 points each to aid the Lightning in the win.

The Lightning will next host Caldwell College on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 5:00pm for the start of CACC play.
