Women's Soccer drops tough battle with Holy Family

Wilmington, DE – Women's Soccer drops tough battle with Holy Family

 

The Lightning women's soccer team played host to the Holy Family University Tigers on Tuesday afternoon under extremely windy conditions.

 

Holy Family would take advantage of the wind, and be the first to score, just 1:17 into the game.  In the 30th minute, Lightning defender Adrianna Polimeni scored on a blast from 15 yards out.  Kate Attenberger provided her team-leading 8th assist.  The Tigers regained the lead in the 38th minute, and would a 2-1 advantage into halftime.

 

Holy Family controlled the second half of the game, as they scored two more goals to secure a 4-1 win.  With the loss, the Lightning drop to 5-6 overall and 3-5 in the CACC. 

 

The Lightning will next travel to Felician College on Saturday, October 25, 2008 for a 1:00pm game.
