Rutherford, NJ – Men's Soccer snaps losing streak with 4-3 win over Felician

 

The Lightning men's soccer team traveled to Felician College today for another of their CACC games. 

 

Felician scored first goal within 50 seconds of the start.  However, the Lightning answered back two minutes later with an unassisted goal by Erlin Rodezno, who beat a Felician defender for his first goal of the season. 

 

Nineteen minutes later, Erlin Rodezno put GBC ahead with a shot from 15 yards out.  Chris Casey provided the assist.  

The Lightning continuing to dominate, as Brandon Rooney beat two Felician defenders before passing the ball to Chris Steele for the Lightning's third goal of the game.  One minute later, Dave Nimroozi scored the Lightning's fourth goal of the game off a direct kick.  The Lightning led at the half 4-1 over Felician College. 

Felician responded in second half goals, with two penalty kick goals, but the Lightning held on for a 4-3 victory.

 

The Lightning will face off at home against Bloomfield College on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 2:00pm.
