Goldey-Beacom men's golf began its spring campaign in Norristown, PA at the Jefferson Invitational and ended day one sitting in second place with a team score of 294.

Freshman Matteo Sasdelli (Florence, Italy) sits in first place after shooting a strong 67 in the first round.  He notched five birdies on the day and just two bogeys to close three under par.

Guillermo de Miguel (Cadiz, Spain) shot 74 in the round and is tied for seventh with fellow senior William Kelly (Auckland, New Zealand) tied for 17th at 76.  Freshman Isaac Puerto Rodriguez (Lanzarote, Spain) shot 77 and senior David Pic wrapped up the round for the Lightning with 82.

Saint Thomas Aquinas carded 293 and holds a one-shot lead.

Goldey-Beacom returns to the course Friday for the final round.  The round begins at 9:00 am and Goldey-Beacom will be among the last five groups, which start at 10:20 am.
