Men’s Golf Sees Three Make The All-CACC Team; TJ Dekmar Repeats as Coach of the Year

4/29/2025 12:00:00 AM

An impending trip to the NCAA Regional was preceded by the news that Camilo Samur (Bucaramanga, Colombia) was named to the All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Golf Team a fourth time, fellow senior Adrian Bonilla (Almeria, Spain) made the squad a second time, junior Guillermo de Miguel (Cadiz, Spain) earned his first appearance and TJ Dekmar repeated as Coach of the Year.

Samur again has been a key factor on the squad in sitting 16th in the region.  An owner of seven top-10 finishes this season, he ended third at the CACC Championship last fall and the Battlefield Classic this spring.

Samur, who last season closed 11th at the NCAA Regional and ended ranked fourth in the region, this season owns a 75.5 average over 21 rounds.

Bonilla enters the regional off another incredible regular season, winning the Jefferson Invitational last fall, ending second on three occasions and finishing 11th at the CACC Championship.

Bonilla this season is ranked eighth in the East Region, one year after closing 11th.  He is averaging 74.7 over 21 rounds.

De Miguel won the GBC Invitational last fall as part of his vital play in his debut campaign.  Ranked 12th in the East, he has a trio of top-10 finishes this season and is averaging 76.1 over 19 rounds.

Dekmar, also the College's Men's Basketball coach, took over the Golf program during the 2022-23 campaign and the squad has not missed a beat.  Last year's unit amassed five all-league selections and finished ninth at the NCAA Regional.  The 2022-23 squad had three All-CACC picks and closed 12th at the regional.

Goldey-Beacom is headed to the NCAA East/Atlantic Regional a fourth consecutive year, clinching the automatic berth after winning its third straight CACC title.  The regional will take place May 8-10 at Whispering Woods Golf Club in Erie, PA and is a 54-hole tournament.

The sixth CACC championship in program history and the most by any GBC team also marks the second time the program has won three straight titles, matching the feet from the 2002-03 season through 2004-05.  It also is the 14th CACC title in the College's history.

As the number three seed from the East Region, Goldey-Beacom begins play Thursday at 11:00 am.  It then will play Friday's second round starting at 8:20 am and Saturday's final-round tee times will be based on the standings after 36 holes.

The top three teams and the top two individuals not with a team from the regional advance to the NCAA Championship, which will be May 19-23 in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.

While Goldey-Beacom looks to make a national presence with its student-athletes, the national presence for the College already exists with Director of Athletics Jeremy Benoit serving as the chair of the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Committee.
