Men’s Golf Wraps Play at the NCAA Regional Preview

Goldey-Beacom again went against the region's elite in getting a look at the championship course, competing in the final round of the NCAA Regional Preview in Erie, PA.

Guillermo de Miguel (Cadiz, Spain) used an eagle and two birdies Tuesday to shoot 74 and finish the tournament tied for 32nd with 153. Adrian Bonilla (Almeria, Spain) overall carded 156, including a final-round 76 in which he made two birdies, and was tied for 53rd.

Camilo Samur (Bucaramanga, Colombia) followed his 79 on Monday with a 79 on Tuesday, carding four birdies to end the championship tied for 66th with 158. Pedro Huerta (Merida, Spain) closed tied for 72nd at 159, following his three birdies from Monday with two on Tuesday. Beto Torres (Merida, Spain) ended tied for 79th with 160, finishing with two more birdies Tuesday after getting four Monday.

Goldey-Beacom followed its 309 from Monday with a 310, finishing the 36-hole event tied for 11th with 619. Davis & Elkins won the team title with 591 and medalist honors were shared by Brogan Bennett of West Liberty and Aidan Talent of D&E, both carding 141.

It was the final tune-up for Goldey-Beacom, which next will play in the NCAA Regional on the same course at Whispering Woods Golf Club. The Lightning clinched the automatic berth by winning the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference title for a third straight year.

The regional will be held May 8-10.
