Matteo Sasdelli Named CACC Men’s Golf Rookie of the Week

Goldey-Beacom Matteo Sasdelli (Florence, Italy) closed his solid debut fall season by being picked the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Golf Rookie of the Week.

This award encompasses all tournaments played after the CACC Championship, which concluded October 7.

Sasdelli ended fifth on October 9 at the Husky Invitational with a one-over-par 73. This included making a hole-in-one on the 166-yard eighth hole to go with four birdies.

The aforementioned was his third top-10 showing of the fall over just five tournaments. He ended fourth at the CACC Preview with 74 and 10th at the Jefferson Invitational with 76.

His play helped the Lightning finish second at the CACC Preview, second at the Jefferson Invitational, third at the Husky Invitational and fourth at the CACC Championship. Goldey-Beacom sits eighth in the East Region and is looking to qualify for the NCAA Regional a fifth consecutive year.
