Goldey-Beacom kicked off its 2024 campaign with an impressive performance, securing second place at the Jefferson Invitational in Philadelphia, PA.
The Lightning finished the competition tied for first with Jefferson at 304. Jefferson secured the first-place spot due to a tie-breaking fifth-place score, pushing Goldey-Beacom into second. Chestnut Hill finished third in the three-team field with 326.
Adrian Bonilla (Almeria, Spain) started off his senior season by closing second with an impressive round of 73. Junior Guillermo Gutierrez (Cadiz, Spain) shot a strong round of 75 to end third
Not far behind Gutierrez, senior Camilo Samur (Bucaramanga, Colombia) was fourth with 76 and junior William Kelly (Auckland, New Zealand) closed tied for ninth with 80.
Samur, Bonilla and Kelly enter the year having been named to the All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Team a season ago. For Samur, it was his third straight appearance.
Senior Ryan Jarvis (Higham Ferrers, England) rounded out the scores for the Lightning, ending tied for third with 83.
Goldey-Beacom next week travels to Gettysburg, PA to compete in the West Chester Battlefield Classic. Competition begins Monday and concludes Tuesday.
