Men’s Golf Stays Within Striking Distance on Day Two at the NCAA Regional

Goldey-Beacom repeated its score from day one and put itself in great shape after two rounds of the NCAA East/Atlantic Regional in Wheeling, WV.
 
GBC once again carded 302 and is in 10th place with 604, only three shots out of fourth place currently shared by Davis & Elkins, Indiana (PA) and Adelphi.  The top five teams and the top two individuals not among those teams go to the NCAA Championship in Winter Garden, FL, part of the organization's spring festival.
 
Camilo Samur (Bucaramanga, Colombia) came out flying, getting three birdies and five pars on the front nine to go out in 35.  The three-time member of the All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Team ended his round shooting 74 and now is at 149, sitting tied for 22nd.
 
William Kelly (Auckland, New Zealand) today played a solid back nine, coming in with 36 and ending the round carding 76.  He is tied for 34th with 151.
 
Pablo Saenz Avila (Bogota, Colombia) made consecutive birdies on the fourth and fifth holes as part of his 77, putting the five-time All-CACC member tied for 41st with 152.
 
Adrian Bonilla (Almeria, Spain) birdied the par-five fifth hole as part of his 79, which has him tied for 65th with 156.  Hunter McGee (Almonte, ON) saw his confidence rise by shooting 75, playing the back nine in 38 that included a birdie on the par-four 18th hole.  The five-time All-CACC Team pick also is in the clubhouse with 156.
 
Gannon leads the championship with 576, 10 shots clear of second-place Charleston (WV).  Michael Wareham from Gannon holds a four-shot lead at 137 over teammate Shaunka Rama.
 
GBC in the final round has tee times beginning at 10:00 am and will play alongside Livingstone and Millersville.
