(results)

Goldey-Beacom withstood a strong challenge and won its third straight Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Golf Championship, ending with a score of 913 at White Clay Creek County Club in Wilmington, DE.

The sixth championship in program history and the most by any GBC team also marks the second time the program has won three straight titles, matching the feet from the 2002-03 season through 2004-05.  It also is the 14th CACC title in the College's history.

The championship also gives the Lightning a fourth straight trip to the NCAA Regional, which will take place May 8-10, 2025 in Erie, PA.

Goldey-Beacom shot 307 on the day and got a great test from Dominican (NY), which fired 306 that had it closing with 917.  Wilmington (DE), which was tied with GBC for the lead at the start of the third and final round, carded 312 to end the championship at 918.

It was yet another impressive day for three-time All-CACC member Camilo Samur (Bucaramanga, Colombia), who carded three birdies and played the last four holes at even par to end with 77.  Aided by his opening-round 68, Samur ended the tournament tied for third with 224.

Not to be outdone was Guillermo de Miguel (Cadiz, Spain), who was a major addition to this year's squad and came through in a big way.  An eagle on the par-five eighth hole went a long way to him shooting 76 and that, along with a second-round 72, aided him in closing sixth with 226.

Adrian Bonilla (Almeria, Spain) followed his All-CACC performance from last year by carding 77 in the final round, including a birdie and 10 pars.  He ended tied for 11th with 233 that included an opening-round 76.

A major player on the day was Beto Torres (Merida, Spain), who came through clutch by carding 77 that included three birdies and nine pars.  He closed the championship tied for 20th with 241.

William Kelly (Auckland, New Zealand), a 2023-24 All-CACC member who shot 77 and 76 over Monday's first two rounds, got four birdies in Tuesday's finale to end 15th with 235.

GBC again was a stalwart on the par fives, easily leading the field with a 5.12 average.  The squad also rolled home 42 birdies to distance second-place Dominican (NY) by eight and was second on par fours at 4.30.

The student-athletes continue to get the credit, but the spotlight should not dim any less on Director of Athletics Jeremy Benoit for molding this dynasty and Head Coach TJ Dekmar for leading it.

Goldey-Beacom next Monday and Tuesday will be at the Chestnut Hill Invitational in Cape May Court House, NJ.
