Goldey-Beacom's continued its impressive performance today as it closed day one at the West Liberty Invitational in first place in Steubenville, OH.
 
The Lightning shot 292 in round one and 285, the third-lowest total in team history, to total 577 on day one.
 
Sophomore William Kelly (Auckland, New Zealand) made his statement on the day playing 143, with rounds of 71 and 72. Junior Pablo Saenz Avila (Bogota, Colombia) follows closely with 144, after an impressive improvement of a career-best 68 in round two from 76 in round one.
 
Junior Adrian Bonilla (Almeria, Spain) played strong rounds himself shooting 73 on both rounds to total 146, equal to fellow junior Camilo Samur (Bucaramanga, Colombia), who totaled rounds of 74 and 72.
 
Juniors Hunter McGee (Almonte, Ont.) rounds out the scoring with rounds of 74 and 73 to shoot 147 on the day.
 
Glenville State sits in second with 584 and California (PA) in third with 589.
 
Goldey-Beacom closes the tournament Tuesday, with the final round of 18 holes beginning with a shotgun start at 9:00 am.
