Goldey-Beacom rounded out day one at the Griffin Invitational with strong play across the board to sit tied for second place after 36 holes in Petersburg, VA.
 
Junior Hunter McGee (Almonte, Ont.) leads for the Lightning, tied for fifth place with 142. McGee closed with rounds of 73 and 69, totaling six birdies across both rounds.
 
Fellow juniors Pablo Saenz Avila (Bogota, Colombia) and Camilo Samur (Bucaramanga, Colombia) sit tied for 20^th and 26^th respectively. Saenz Avila shot four birdies in rounds of 72 and 74 for a total of 146, while Samur shot an ace in round one to go with five birdies to close day one with 147.
 
Sophomore William Kelly (Auckland, New Zealand) also sits tied for 26^th with 147 after four birdies in rounds of 75 and 72. Junior Adrian Bonilla (Almeria, Spain) closes out the team scores tied for 41^st with 149, playing rounds of 76 and 73 aided by four birdies.
 
Goldey-Beacom finishes the tournament on Tuesday with the final round of 18 holes, tee times beginning at 8:30am.
