(2023 schedule)

An experienced squad, a renewed sense of enthusiasm and a deeper roster spells nothing but great things for Goldey-Beacom, which in 2023 looks to continue making noise in the area as the team announced its schedule.

The squad plays its first four matches at home, beginning September 5 against Mercy.  GBC four days later hosts Virginia Union and Pace in a tri-match before playing its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opener September 11 versus Caldwell.

Defending league champion Jefferson provides solid tests September 27 in Pike Creek and October 31 in East Falls.  Holy Family also is a tough foe out of the South Division and it will face GBC on September 23 in Philadelphia and October 25 at the Jones Center.

GBC in between has the unenviable task October 21 of visiting Bloomfield, which last season won the North Division and rallied from two sets down to stun homestanding Holy Family in the CACC semifinals.

Goldey-Beacom on November 4 plays its league finale against Bridgeport and closes the regular season later that day as part of a tri-match against Southern Connecticut State.

The top four teams in each of the two divisions (North and South) make the conference tournament.  The quarterfinals are November 14 and championship weekend is November 18-19 on the campus of Georgian Court University in Lakewood, NJ.

A key to the entire equation is junior outside hitter Piper Nanouski (Chicago, IL), who is a solid player at the net and also gives the Lightning strong defense.  A great leader and one of the best teammates at the College, Nanouski ended last season 19th in the CACC with 242 kills, 41st with 180 digs and 44th with 25 aces.

Sophomore libero Claudia Camporro (Gijon, Spain) was a more than welcomed addition to the defense and this proved vital throughout the entire season.  An enthusiastic player who gives her all during every point, she finished the campaign 20th in the league with 278 digs and had double figures in digs 15 times.

Sophomore middle blocker Megan Chesser (Grove City, OH) presents the Lightning strong play at the net with her great hitting and blocking ability.  Looking to get even more playing time this season, Chesser ended a season ago 18th in the CACC with 52 blocks, 38th with 26 aces and 49th with 115 kills.

The squad welcomes seven newcomers that brings the roster size to 15, thanks to the work of second-year coach Taylor Rapuano.  Prior to serving the 2021 season as an assistant, Rapuano was head coach at A.I. duPont High School during the 2020 campaign after she was the school's assistant coach and head JV coach the prior season.  She also was a digital design teacher for two years in the Red Clay Consolidated School District.
