Goldey-Beacom's Men's Golf squad, champions of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, made the most of an outstanding week with great individual performances and an outstanding team showing at the NCAA East/Atlantic Regional in Lebanon, PA.

Sophomore Hunter McGee (Almonte, ON) continues to be one of the main bright spots for the Lightning, displaying what has made him a four-time member of the All-CACC Team.  He notched four birdies on the day and carded 75, ending the week at 222 to finish tied for 10th.

McGee, one of many in contention for an individual spot at the NCAA Championship, recorded 11 birdies over the 54 holes to end tied for sixth.  His best round on the week was Thursday, when he shot an opening-round 73.

Sophomore Camilo Samur (Bucaramanga, Colombia) on Saturday also punctuated his solid week, carding 71 to end tied for 18th with 225.  Named to the All-CACC Team a second time, Samur amassed three birdies on the day and finished the week with nine.

Sophomore Pablo Saenz Avila (Bogota, Colombia) birdied two of the first three holes and shot 74, ending the championship tied for 28th with 227.  The four-time All-CACC Team pick opened his week Thursday by shooting 73.

Adrian Bonilla (Almeria, Spain) carded a week-best 80 to end tied for 96th with 244.  Fellow sophomore Mason Kucy (Camrose, AB), the 2022 CACC individual champion, shot 78 Saturday to end the week at 255.

Goldey-Beacom shot 298 on the day, marking the seventh time this season it broke 300, and closed the championship 12th.  Saturday's score was the tied for fifth best for the round out of the 20 teams.

Davis & Elkins won the team title with 892 and Donte Groppuso of Saint Thomas Aquinas was the medalist with 212.

This ends an outstanding season in which the Lightning amassed four victories, including three straight with the aforementioned CACC title, six top-three showings and four individual wins.  The future is more than bright with all players eligible to return following a pair of seasons, 2019-20 and 2020-21, that were altered due to Covid-19.
