Goldey-Beacom Men's Golf Opens Play at the NCAA Regional Preview

Goldey-Beacom got its first taste of the course it will compete on in postseason and against some of the players in that field, beginning play at the NCAA Regional Preview in Lebanon, PA.
 
Iron Valley Golf Club not only is the site for this tournament, but will host the NCAA Regional when Goldey-Beacom competes in it May 11-13.  The squad last fall earned its automatic berth by winning the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference title.
 
Sophomore Hunter McGee (Almonte, ON) shot 75 on the day, carding four birdies, and is tied for 21st.  Sophomore Pablo Saenz Avila (Bogota, Colombia) also had a solid day, shooting 77 that included an eagle and a birdie that has him tied for 39th.
 
Sophomore Adrian Bonilla (Almeria, Spain) also is tied for 39th with 77, notching four birdies on the day.  Sophomore Camilo Samur (Bucaramanga, Colombia) is just a shade behind with 78, amassing three birdies, and he is tied for 46th.
 
Sophomore Mason Kucy (Camrose, AB), the reigning CACC individual champion, recorded 12 pars on his round and is tied for 87th with 81.
 
Goldey-Beacom closed with an impressive 307 on the day and is tied for 10th out of 25 teams.  Saint Thomas Aquinas has the 18-hole lead with 299 and Giovanni Delorenzi from Gannon is tops with a four-under-par 68.
 
The squads are back in action Tuesday for the final round with another 8:00 am shotgun start.
