Men’s Golf Ends Tied for Eighth at the Spadafora IUP Invitational

Goldey-Beacom shot a final-round 303 and closed its week tied for eighth at the Spadafora IUP Invitational in Indiana, PA.
 
Sophomore Camilo Samur (Bucaramanga, Colombia) enjoyed a solid final 18 holes, making four birdies as part of shooting 74 to end tied for 26th with 155.  Sophomore Ryan Jarvis (Higham Ferrers, England) played the week as an individual and finished tied for 35th with 157, including a final-round 77.
 
Sophomore Hunter McGee (Almonte, ON) used 14 pars to shoot 75 and end tied for 42nd with 158.  Sophomore Pablo Saenz Avila (Bogota, Colombia) also was tied for 42nd with 158, carding a final-round 76.  Sophomore Adrian Bonilla (Almeria, Spain) shot 78 in his final round and also ended tied for 42nd with 158.
 
Freshman William Kelly (Auckland, New Zealand) finished tied for 53rd with 160, which included Monday's 76.
 
Tuesday's final round for the Lightning was tied for the second-best round of the day, equaling Davis & Elkins and seven shots behind Malone's 296.  Malone won the title with 593.
 
Goldey-Beacom next Monday and Tuesday competes at the NCAA Regional Preview in Lebanon, PA.  Many teams looking to compete at next month's NCAA Regional are expected to be there.  Goldey-Beacom is one of them by virtue of winning last fall's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference title.
