Goldey-Beacom returned to the course for the first time in 2023, competing in the D&E Battle at Brunswick in Calabash, NC, sitting in sixth place after shooting 318 on day one.

Sophomores Pablo Saenz Avila (Bogota, Colombia) and Camilo Samur (Bucaramanga, Colombia) played solid rounds. Saenz Avila leads the way for the Lightning, sitting tied for 10th after playing 76, while Samur took just one stroke more to sit tied for 17th with 77.

Sophomore Hunter McGee (Almonte, Ont.) is tied for 52nd after shooting 82 and junior Carlos Riveras (Margarita Island, Venezuela) followed after carding 83 to sit tied for 61st. Sophomore Adrian Bonilla (Almeria, Spain) rounds up the team, recording 88 to sit tied for 78th place after round one.

Goldey-Beacom concludes the tournament on Sunday with tee times at 8:00 am.
