Men's Golf Finish Third at the Vulcan Invitational

Goldey-Beacom continued its strong play into the second day of the Vulcan Invitational in Belle Vernon, PA.

Sophomore Camilo Samur (Bucaramanga, Colombia) continued impressive play to finish the tournament in ninth place at five-under-par. Samur carded four birdies on the back nine, to finish with 69, 137 across two rounds.

Fellow sophomore Pablo Saenz Avila (Bogota, Colombia) shot 69 in the second round to finish with 139 and tied for 16th place. Saenz Avila carded 10 birdies across the two rounds.

Hunter McGee (Almonte, ONT.) finished with 72 and a total of 143, tied for 36th. Junior Carlos Riveras (Margarita Island, Venezuela) tied for 50th place, totaling 74, finishing with 145.

Freshman William Kelly (Auckland, New Zealand) shot 74, finishing his first collegiate tournament tied for 62nd place with 147 and sophomore Adrian Bonilla (Almeria, Spain) played 79 to finish with 149.

Coming off a new school record, the Lightning set another by carding 563 for their lowest in a 36-hole event to break the previous mark of 592 set two seasons ago.  This moved them up two places to finish third in the tournament, the best of the four Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference teams competing in the tournament.

GBC is in action on Tuesday at the Jefferson Invitational in Norristown, PA.
