Camilo Samur Named CACC Men’s Golf Player of the Week

Goldey-Beacom freshman Camilo Samur (Bucaramanga, Colombia) has put forth a strong start to the season and his recent accomplishment helped him to be named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Golf Player of the Week for the second time this season.
 
Samur on Monday recorded his first collegiate victory, winning the GBC Fall Invitational by carding 71.  He notched three birdies on the day and shot a tournament-best one-under par on the par-three holes and the par-five holes.
 
All of this helped the Lightning shoot 298 to win the tournament by 22 shots for their second victory of the season.  Fellow CACC foes Chestnut Hill, University of the Sciences and Felician also were in the tournament.
 
Samur this season is averaging 73.33 over rounds and his 71 matched his personal best from September 12 at the FPU Fall Invitational.  He has three top-five finishes this season, ending tied for third at the aforementioned and fifth at the Jefferson Tri-Match.
 
Goldey-Beacom next Monday and Tuesday competes at the CACC Championship in Watertown, CT.
