Goldey-Beacom continued its dominance Friday by shooting 292 to match the school record for a single round and sit tied for first place on day one of the Mercyhurst Fall Invitational in North East, MD.
Hunter McGee (Almonte, ON) led the way by carding 69, shooting three-under-par to sit in second place just one shot out of the lead. McGee's performance sits just two off his personal best.
Mason Kucy (Camrose, AB) shot a one-over-par 73, five shots back and tied for fifth place. Camilo Samur (Bucaramanga, Colombia) opened with a two-over-par performance at 74 and is tied for 10th. Samur was named CACC Men's Player of the Week last week at the FPU Fall Invitational.
Sophomore Carlos Riveras (Margarita Island, Venezuela) shot four over-par, ending day one tied for 25th with 76. Pablo Saenz Avila (Bogota, Colombia) carded 78.
Goldey-Beacom is tied for first in the 12-team field, with Charleston University. The 292 matches the total during the 2008 Wilmington Fall Classic.
The final round takes place Saturday with the Lightning teeing off at 11:27 am.
