Five for Women’s Basketball Make it on the CACC Academic Honor Roll

Goldey-Beacom's women's basketball team continued its prowess in the classroom with five of its student-athletes being named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Academic Honor Roll.
 
Juniors Sarah Round (Northampton, England), Lexi Weikert (Harrisburg, PA) and Jhordan Gardner (Burlington, NJ) along with sophomore Vera Lauhaluoma (Espoo, Finland) each made the list a second time with Janiya Stevens (Ellendale, DE) getting her initial appearance.
 
Round has put forth two solid years at guard and has made herself a mainstay in the lineup.  She ended the 2019-20 campaign 96th in the country with 2.26 three-pointers per game, sixth in the CACC with 61 three-pointers (seventh-best total in school history), 30th with 10.6 points per game and 23rd with a .307 three-point percentage.  Round enters this season fifth in school history with 135 three-pointers.
 
Weikert made 24 starts in 2019-20 and gave the Lightning important minutes, averaging 26.5 per game to end third on the squad.  She closed that season eighth in the CACC with a .376 three-point percentage, 22nd with 35 three-pointers, 49th with 24 steals and scored 27 points to go with seven 3-pointers December 7 at Chestnut Hill.
 
Gardner competed in 27 contests with 11.3 minutes per game, Lauhaluoma closed sixth in the CACC with a 1.7 assist-to-turnover ratio and Stevens ended 15th in the CACC with 19 blocks.
 
This brings the program's total to 22 over the last four academic years, an average of 5.5 per season.
