Lydia Betz Named to the CACC Women’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll A Second Time

Goldey-Beacom sophomore Lydia Betz (Pittsburgh, PA) continues to put up big numbers and she was rewarded in being tabbed to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll a second time.

Betz poured in a career-best 24 points on 7-of-13 shooting and tied her personal high with nine rebounds in addition to shooting 10-for-10 from the line Wednesday against Chestnut Hill.

One of the most explosive scorers in the conference, Betz continues to display all the skills of all the positions on the floor. She has scored in double figures all seven games this season, is first in the league with an .822 free throw percentage, seventh with 16.0 points per game, seventh with 33.3 minutes per contest and 10th with a .439 field goal percentage.

Betz last season played a vital role in helping Goldey-Beacom make the CACC Tournament. With elimination imminent late in the regular season, Betz' layup with 14 seconds remaining in overtime gave GBC a critical 78-77 win February 16 at Georgian Court. The squad followed that one week later with an upset up No. 20 Holy Family.
