Braden Wheeler Impresses for Men’s Golf in 2019 Spring Debut

Junior Braden Wheeler (Carleton Place, ON) opened his spring campaign in impressive form by closing tied for sixth for Goldey-Beacom at the Crab to Go Invitational in Berlin, MD.
 
In the 36-hole event Monday, Wheeler opened with 76 and then carded 74 in the final round to finish 6-over-par.  It was his second top-10 finish of the academic year, including tied for sixth at the Jefferson Invitational and tied for ninth at the Le Moyne Invitational during the fall.
 
Sophomore Corbin Babyak (Wallenpaupack, PA) ended tied for 24th with 161, junior Shea Murphy (Wilmington, DE) was tied for 33rd with 165, senior Ryan Quigg (Sykesville, MD) closed tied for 39th with 170 and junior Jaime Daza (Bogota, Colombia) made his debut for the Lightning by ending 41st with 171.
 
Goldey-Beacom ended the tournament seventh with 570, which included a final-round 319.  Saint Thomas Aquinas won with 597, including an opening-round 295.
 
Goldey-Beacom next Monday and Tuesday competes at The Trojan in Goldsboro, NC.
