Golf Again Excels at the Le Moyne Invitational

The solid play of Goldey-Beacom's golf team again was exhibited with the squad ending its time at the Le Moyne Invitational in Cicero, NY.

Freshman Gonzalo Moreno (Seville, Spain) again went on a tear, ending tied for second with 141. After carding 71 to open things Friday, Moreno came back Saturday with a 70 to mark the fourth time this season he has shot 70 or better.

Moreno this week was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week for the third time. He also was been tabbed the league's Player of the Week twice.

Freshman Hunter McGee (Carp, ON) closed tied for 39th with 152, senior Shea Murphy (Wilmington DE) was tied for 47th with 154, junior Corbin Babyak (Wallenpaupack, PA) ended tied for 61st with 157 and freshman Mason Kucy (Camrose, AB) finished tied for 70th with 160.

Goldey-Beacom as a unit closed ninth with 602, carding 301 each day. Assumption won the title with 586.

Goldey-Beacom from October 28-29 will compete at the Griffin Invitational in Plymouth Meeting, PA.
