Shea Murphy Ends Tied for Second for Men’s Golf at the Eagle Invitational

Senior Shea Murphy (Wilmington, DE) recorded a career day, shooting a final-round 68 Tuesday and closing tied for second to spur Goldey-Beacom at the Eagle Invitational in Watertown, CT.

Murphy followed Monday's 75 with an explosive final round, notching a career high by recording an eagle and three birdies to finish three-under par. He went out in 36 and caught fire on the back nine with 32, closing the tournament with 143.

All of the above totals represent career highs.

Also on a tear was freshman Gonzalo Moreno (Seville, Spain), who closed tied for fifth with 146 after shooting 70 Tuesday that included four birdies. Hunter McGee (Carp, ON) was tied for ninth with 148, fellow freshman Mason Kucy (Camrose, AB) finished tied for 22nd with 152, junior Corbin Babyak (Wallenpaupack, PA) ended tied for 34th with 155, freshman Pablo Saenz Avila (Bogota, Colombia) was tied for 38th with 156 and senior Braden Wheeler (Carleton Place, ON) closed tied for 52nd with 159.

Goldey-Beacom ended the championship fifth with 603, including Tuesday's 297.

Goldey-Beacom this Friday and Saturday plays at the Le Moyne Invitational in Cicero, NY.
